SSELP-Remote evaluations are performed using your own location, equipment and internet connection along with specific provided software. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure these meet the standards required.
You will need a computer and peripherals that complies with the following requirements:
Windows 10 operating system
At this time, only Windows 10 computers are supported. (NOT supported at this time: Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, Linux, etc.)
Ability to install the Safe Exam Browser application
Permission to download and install new software on Windows 10 computer
A minimum of 400 MB of free disk space
NOTE: The evaluation platform is based on Zoom technology but does not require or make use of Zoom on your computer. You do not need to install Zoom and it will not access your current Zoom settings.
A keyboard and a mouse or trackpad
NOTE: The evaluation software is NOT optimized for touchscreens
One single monitor/screen
NOTE: The evaluation software will only recognize a single (primary) monitor/screen.
If using a laptop, it is strongly recommended to disconnect as many wires as possible so the laptop can be moved around.
If using a desktop PC, ensure your webcam can be freely moved to point in all directions. You may need to disentangle the wire before the evaluation.
Videoconferencing capabilities
Webcam: HD (minimum of 720p)
Microphone (internal or external)
Earbuds/headphones
NOTE: You must use the same camera, microphone, and earbuds/headphones to test your equipment that you will be using on the day of your evaluation o You will need a reliable high-speed Internet connection in the location you will be performing your evaluation o Minimum connection speed: 4mbps download / 4 mbps upload, sustained
You can check with your internet service provider to confirm that your service is fast enough.
You may use speedtest.net or a similar service to check your connection speed.
NOTE: this is the minimum sustained speed required. It is recommended to check your speed many times before the evaluation to ensure you have sufficient sustained speed.
Recommended: wired Ethernet connection – WIFI speeds may vary and potentially drop the connection during the evaluation.

You have agreed to establish and maintain a secure environment throughout your evaluation that ensures there is no one present in the room with you, that no one other can be heard and that there are no recording devices present. See here for a full review of these conditions.
You will be required to use the webcam to show the full surface of your table or desk, the four corners of your room as well as all walls, and perhaps more. This is required.
NOTE: You will need to stand up to do this. If using a laptop with a built-in camera, you may need to physically pick up your laptop to show your room. Watch this video for a demonstration of what may be required.
